Originally fifth-billed Fonzie moved up steadily, finally into first billing in 1980, as the thumbs-up, "Heyyy!" biker increased his own and show's popularity. Lots of changes over time as kids come and go, new series spin off, Richie and pals go to college then the army. Even marriage.

They were indeed!

Yes, those were Happy Days, when I watched this show as a child. For quite a while, this was the best show on tv. It outstayed its welcome, but it shined for a time.

The success of the show rests heavily on the performances of Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Tom Bosley, and Marion Ross. Henry Winkler had tremendous charisma and handled his role with great subtlety, until the writing got out of hand. Ron Howard was the rare case of a child actor whose talent matured with his body. Tom Bosley and Marion Ross were outstanding character actors who brought life to Howard and Marion Cunningham. The cast was rounded out by fine supporting players and guest stars.

It was interesting to watch the 50's nostalgia evolve to the point that the time period was no longer mentioned in the show. It seemed that, by the end, it was set in the present. It's interesting to watch the earliest seasons, with episodes revolving around Adlai Stevenson vs. Eisenhower, or Rock 'N' Roll shows; and compare those to shows revolving around Fonzie as a teacher.

It's a shame that memories of Happy Days are tainted by the later years, and that stupid "jumping the shark" phrase. For a time, this show was unbeatable. It created successful spin-offs, like "Laverne and Shirley" and "Mork and Mindy," as well as less successful ones like "Joannie Loves Chachi." It ruled Tuesday nights and was one of the top ten shows for a long part of its existence.

The one question that remains from this show is, "What happened to Chuck?" Maybe he died in Vietnam, with the Beaver. Oh, wait, that was an urban legend. Maybe he was recruited into the CIA.

It's so awesome

When I first saw Degrassi-The next generation, I thought how they all seemed to be really good at acting. The first episode was kind of embarrassing for me, but I fell in love with the show. The rest of the episodes were pretty good comparing to some of the shows out there (O.C, etc...) And this was was real teens

When I first saw on this site (IMDB) that the young actors and actresses didn't really do much and this was something new to them. Well, they did a really good job for their first acting job

I would recommend this show to teens ages 12-17. This show is a thumbs up

Why is this show being canceled??????????

Unfortunately for me I didn't come across this show until the last regular episode aired. My niece watches it all the time and I finally sat down and watched it with her, and I liked it immediately. Likable characters, and funny story lines. My favorite characters; Jade, Cat, and Rex ( yes, the puppet ). I wish I had had a teacher like Sikowitz. I hope Nickelodeon changes their mind but it's highly unlikely, even though it's the most popular show they have right now, if I read correctly. I hope all the main characters go on to future success. Dan Schneider had yet another hit with this show, and I'm sure will have another new show out soon.

I LOVE/HATE this show

This show is one of the most perplexing I've ever seen. It has almost nothing and yet everything going for it. The cons just go on and on and on but I'll try and keep it short.

The "plot" of this series is one joke: a teenage girl (Miley Cyrus) leads a double life as a pop-star named Hannah Montana (ho, ho, ho) and the "wacky complications" that follow with trying to lead a pop-star /normal life.

This show is awful, don't get me wrong. The acting is grating and obnoxious, the sets look like they come from some tacky 80s sitcom and the stories are either clichéd or non-existent. And yet.....I'm actually entertained.

Why? Well, the tacky acting is so bad and over the top, that it actually succeeds in getting me to LOL. Some actors manage to wring some genuine laughs (like the charming Emily Osment) and like with "Cool World" it's fun trying to figure out who gives the worst performance. But here, it's a daily routine and the choice always changes.

The main reason to watch this show is to marvel at the TERRIBLE acting of one Mily Cyrus. She dresses like Paris Hilton, speaks like Chris Tucker in slow-motion and acts like an amateurish Jack Nicholson impersonator. In all, she's hilariously bad.

What can I say? For as awful as this show is (and it IS) it still manages to keep me entertained but for all the wrong reasons.

The only reason i watched was because i lost a bet...

Awful cannot begin to describe the repugnant garbage that is Hannah Montana. Not even a glimmer of decency showed throughout the half hour I wasted watching this filth. The songs were brutal. The acting was brutal. Miley Cyrus made me want to start pulling my hair out, and the father made me daydream about the most creative way to end my misery. Let me put it this way: if you watch this show, you will see untalented brainless actors running around the set for thirty minutes trying, and failing, to be funny. I see now why it's audience consists only of preteen girls. Do not watch this show if you are the least bit intelligent...not to mention any of the other pointless dribble that Disney seems to be producing by the second. You've been warned.

I can't say enough about this drama. Connie Britton also produces plays Rayna James, a veteran country music star. She does a fabulous job in the role and should be getting an Emmy for it. Hayden Panetterie whom I watched when she was on Guiding Light years ago is fantastic as Juliet Barnes, a rising star. She does a fantastic job in her role. Powers Boothe plays Rayna's father and is brilliant in his supporting role. Eric Close is fine as Teddy Conrad, Rayna's husband. The best part of the show is that it is filmed on location in Nashville, Tennessee and it shows with landmark sites like the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry, the Bluebird Cafe, and others. The series shows light on the country music set, politics, and the relationships and dynamics among them. Can't wait for the next episode! This show is a winner!

A love/hate relationship with a classic

An earlier reviewer said this show sucks and that the "new cast" is terrible. What is interesting about SNL is how whenever there is a changeover of cast, it has become almost a tradition to hate the newcomers. In truth, however, many of the episodes that have aired in recent years -- even since the 1998 review I refer to -- have now come to be considered classics. And the cast members so many of us hated at first are now often seen in a favorable light alongside the "classic" cast of the late 1970s. And what cannot be denied is no TV program in history has been such a fertile breeding ground for future stars. Just look at the cast list and be amazed.
