The road to and success on Broadway of the musical is not easy. And winning the coveted Tony as Best Musical is even more difficult, that which is the ultimate goal. Such trials and tribulations are shown for a handful of shows, their creative teams and their performers. There is competition amongst the performers for roles, competition amongst the shows not only for box office but also limited investor dollars and that final Tony prize, and competition amongst those ultimately hired in the cast and crew for what they want to see happen in the show, both for the good of the show and their own personal benefit. And sometimes, personal life gets in the way of these professional goals. SMASH is brilliant

SMASH very quickly became one of my all time favourite programmes. I love all the songs, bought the soundtrack as soon as it came out and I constantly find myself watching the season 1 highlights on NBC's website. There isn't one song I don't like and I find myself listening to them 24/7. The characters are brilliant - Julia is my favourite, her and Tom together make a fab team! Derek's attitude is amazing and makes him a character I should hate but love! Megan Hilty and Katharine McPhee are beautiful singers and they make SMASH what it is!

The talent in this programme is amazing and I seriously can't wait for it to be released on DVD and more importantly... for season 2!
