Loved it!

I thought this show was GREAT! The reason I found it in the first place was because Veronica Mars ended and so I wanted more of Rob Thomas. Well, turns out there is quite the slew of people working on this show, and the product is wonderful (to me, of course). I am a huge Veronica Mars fan, and so it was neat to see various cast members guest star on all the different episodes. I thought it was humorous and well-written. The pilot episode doesn't quite grab you, but once I got in to a couple episodes, I quickly appreciated the first ones.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a light, funny show. I can't wait for season two (if there is one). It definitely leaves you wanting more.

Funny, Charming Series

I thought the "there's something delightful about poking fun at being Jewish" was at the center of Fran's charm. You couldn't help but love her every step of the way.

Probably the best aspect of this series was that as a comedy, other series take themselves so seriously.

Not with Fran Drescher's THE NANNY. Fran knew exactly how far to push her lovable kitschy style and always kept it in check with her timing and sexy panache. The show concluded at the right time in the course of the series. By golly, you've got to give them credit for knowing when to stop. So many shows are run into the ground and the endings are hastily wrapped up. Not so with this program. The last episode was warmly sad for we devoted fans of this show. But it was done just right...just when you thought the time for the credits was approaching...through tears in your eyes....came out Grandma.

There were several characters which have been mentioned before in other reviews; all of which I loved...but by far the best was ANN GUILBERT as the grandmother. Her comic timing, her gentle way with her character, her facial expressions were so priceless reminds me now of how my own mother is advancing in her years. It is disappointing that she was not nominated for an Emmy for this series. Perhaps her part was not large enough. But oh, what she did with those precious minutes. It harkens back to those wonderful days when she was Millie Helper, Rob and Laura Petrie's quirky and nosy neighbor on the Dick Van Dyke Show. What a talent this women has given us!

Thank you, Ann....and thank you, Fran for choosing her to play this part. You are still sorely missed one and all. Thank goodness for syndication!

An absolute ABC classic!

"MY WIFE AND KIDS," in my opinion, is an absolute ABC classic! I haven't seen every episode, but I still enjoyed it. There are many episodes that I enjoyed. One of them was where Junior (George O. Gore II) got his driver's license. If you want to know why, you'll have to have seen it for yourself. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that everyone always gave a good performance, the production design was spectacular, the costumes were well-designed, and the writing was always very strong. In conclusion, even though it can be seen in syndication now, I strongly recommend you catch it just in case it goes off the air for good.

Uninspired.

Being that as of Sept 28th 2009 I have only seen the pilot and it doesn't seem to be a promising show. It's a little funny, it did make me laugh, but Cleveland just isn't funny. When you have a character like Peter (an idiot) everything just falls into place. TRYING to be funny just doesn't work.

I don't see much coming from this show. It's like it was designed by the lowest bidder. They had to make a show because without a show there is no biz, but this is the best they could come up with. Lackluster is the best way to describe it, uninspired.

They need to stop blowing a hole in Cleveland's bungalow. It was funny the first time.

Hilarious and truer than we'd often want to admit.

A couple of mates with similar senses of humour got me into this during the second series and I have gone back and unearthed the first series. Well worth the effort! British comedy is alive and well in the cult shadows! This is hilarious because it represents a comedic image of how tragic most of our lives were as teenagers. It pulls off the awesome trick of being cool whilst proudly boasting central characters who aren't cool. They're not always nice, even. But they ARE true - and you've gotta love 'em for it! Check this out and laugh your nuts off, whilst guiltily hiding the fact that you were either as lovable yet pathetic as the heroes or as cool, snide and, deep-down, insecure as the bullies.

Haven't laughed like this in years

This show is simply brilliant, it tickles my funny bone in a way that no other show has done in years, very will written, brilliant performance by the cast, and very addictive, i love it, i don't usually write reviews but this one is worth it, if i could give it more than ten stars i definitely would.

The acting is sharp and cunning and in Wilfred's case, his bite is worse than his bark. Other than talking, drinking and getting high, Wilfred behaves like any dog. Not to be cliché but Gann wears the dog suit perfectly. He's lovable and sweet though more times impetuous and you feel he needs the sting of a rolled up newspaper but he turns around and gives lessons and shares his wisdom that Ryan can take to heart.

For those who have some reservations about Wood's comedic talents, you can put them to rest. It's not that he's setting out to be humorous, but is simply reacting to odd and perplexing situations and those lead to some hysterical moments. I'd put this in the category of "funny man, straight man" comedy and it's Elijah's strong ability to give emotions to his characters without saying much at all that makes him perfect for this bewildered individual.

Like the rest of Ianucci's work, this is a fantastic political satire. The reflexive self-serving sycophancy, the arbitrary nature of power, the automatic deferral to the hidden powers behind the throne, the elevation of random dross above real issues (brilliantly lampooned in the pilot when the use of cornstarch forks in the White House becomes a stumbling block to setting up a clean jobs task force) are skillfully portrayed, showing how the dysfunction of the modern arena (especially the media's eye, usually passive but, as in the second episode, sometimes accompanied by a mouthful of vicious teeth) prevents the exercise of power for actual governmental function. None of the characters are perfectly likable, though all are well-played, but somehow the ensemble is endearing. Watch this if you want to see a sharp commentary on the drunken carousel that is politics.

This might be the most brilliant TV show ever.

After missing Larry David's much heralded HBO Special which was the pilot for this masterpiece, on premiere night I was treated with a show that seems to be a bit of Seinfield and Larry Sanders, or maybe even more.

While many won't get the premise, being much in-tune with inside Hollywood humor and personalities, Curb Your Enthusiasm takes us inside, past the backstage to the actual lifestyles of an "A-list" celebrity and shows exactly how they tick-Fear, paranoia, and maybe, just maybe the inner-workings of a creative genius like Larry David.

It's clearly evident who the mastermind of Seinfeld was after watching it. Everyone of those Seinfeld characters are parts of Larry David's personality and just like Seinfeld and The Larry Sanders Show, I can hardly wait to see each episode over and over and over.

This show shouldn't be labled a "10" it's much to brilliant for that. Try "A+" with a 210 I.Q.

When I saw this show advertised on TV I immediately set a series record, knowing that it would be worth watching. When my 6-year-old Sat down and put the pilot on we watched it together. She loved it and so did I because It was so full of heart! You have Ben and his best friend/roommate, Tucker. Then, there is Ben's big bother Danny and their childhood neighbour Riley. She used to have the unfortunate nickname "fat-pants" but has since lost all the weight and is now in law school. Also, she is quietly in love with Ben, and Danny calls her out on It. But, the sad thing is Danny secretly has a thing for her so that poses a future problem. When Ben's ex leaves their 3 month old baby girl, Emma, on his doorstep with a folder that says she is giving the baby up for adoption and needs him to sign off, he has to make a difficult hard life decision. Will he or won't he keep the baby? Um, of course he will keep the baby! This show Is sweet and I can't wait to see what happens.

I miss this show

This has been one of my favorite TV shows. Why did those morons at the TV station have to take it off the air? It started off on ABC as part of TGIF. After that, they put it on CBS and had reruns of it on NBC. It's sort of like the "Brady Bunch" except that the kids don't get along at all, especially JT and Dana who are almost always bickering with each other. JT usually calls Dana "Barkey" and she makes a clever comeback by calling him "Greaseball." Let's see now, we also have Karen, Dana's vain sister and Mark, Dana's nerdy brother. Of the Lambert children we have JT of course, then sports-freak Al(short for Alicia) and carefree Brendan. Oh, let's also not forget the weird, but loveable Cody (JT, Al, and Brendan's cousin)who lives in a van in their backyard. I love this show very much. So please, God, bring this show back.

Much funnier than I expected!

As a fan of the Coneheads, this familiar premise held some hope for me, but I was prepared to be disappointed. However, within the boundaries of where a show like this is aimed, this was a very funny show. No audience laughter and no talking to the camera were welcome assets.

We laughed out loud several times. The jokes moved quickly and were a pleasant mix of the surreal and absurd. The cast was solid and I especially enjoyed the fact that Jami Gertz was the only actor I was all that familiar with.

Looking forward to more and hope that they can sustain the comedic tone established in the pilot.

fantastic so far (as of ep 3)

After watching the first 3 shows, I'm impressed, will be a great show if this level of writing can be sustained. "Episodes" is a cross between "Entourage" (minus the glorification of wealth and conspicuous consumption), "Curb your Enthusiasm" (minus bad acting), and "Extras" (minus cameos, and bits that sucked of which there were many).

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews (as of 1/25/2011) - perhaps Americans are having trouble relating to the lead British couple? In any case, seeing the inner workings of Hollywood's entertainment industrial complex through their down-to-earth eyes is a great premise, casting Matt LeBlanc was a genius touch, and I hope this gem continues for a lot more 'episodes'.

FINALLY! Been hungering for something fresh and new like this!

I haven't gotten into anything new as far as a live action series since Seinfeld went off the air. Most comedy series are lame, not funny and predictable with laugh tracks.. Its like, "Oh, I was supposed to laugh at that?". Finally with "Earl" there is something new to get into watching again with an original idea. This show is very funny, has great characters, scenes, directing and doesn't prompt you to laugh with a laugh track. Jason Lee was on Leno a week or so ago pluggin his show and is really funny, and talks much the same as his character. Guess thats how he delves into it so easy. I hope this show sticks around for a while. After years of Reality TV and a bunch of played out stupid comedy series this is a welcome treat!

Very Funny!

The King of Queens is a very funny show especially since Jerry Stiller (Ben Stiller's dad) is in this series and I think Jerry Stiller is hilarious! This series is about a blue-collar couple, Douglas and Carrie Heffernan (Kevin James and Leah Remini) share their home in Queens, New York (suburb of New York City) with Carrie's crazy dad, Arthur (played the hilarious, Jerry Stiller). Burly Doug, who makes a living as a parcel deliveryman, often has to scheme to find time alone with Carrie, as Arthur can be quiet a handful -- so much so that they a dog-walker, Holly, to look after him. When he's not working, clashing with Arthur, or nesting with Carrie, Doug hangs with his advice-giving buddies Deacon (Victor Williams) and Spence (Patton Oswalt), as well as his cousin Danny (Gary Valentine). This series premiered on CBS in September 1998. This series is so funny and I think all the jokes are funny and I think Leah Remini kind of reminds me of Jennifer Aniston from "Friends".

wonderful sitcom

I'm not a big fan of TV. I think most of it is terribly contrived and has very little to do with the lives of normal people. This show is different. The fights they get into, the disputes, everything is true and funny. Ray is the beleaguered protagonist and his parents and brother are absolute scene stealers. This show is just wonderful. The writing is good and I can really see these sorts of things happening in my family. It is much easier to watch when it is someone else's family though.

Favorite new show of the season

Cougartown, as a whole, is my favorite new show this season.

Jules (Cox) is a divorced mom who lives next door to her best friend (Krista Miller), and sells real estate with her other best friend (Busy Phillips). She married young, so is just now testing her wings in the dating world and it happens to be with a younger man. Her best friends can't stand each other, but love her and are a good support system in helping her navigate this strange new world. The dialogue between the best friends is snarkiness at it's best.

Courtney Cox is brilliantly funny - I always thought she did comedy better than drama and this is a much better vehicle for her than Dirt, IMO.

In addition to our star, the show has an excellent supporting cast - Krista Miller rocks, as usual, Busy Phillips is a hoot - loved her in Freaks and Geeks, Dan Byrd (her son) is a breath of fresh air, and the rest of the men are not only hilarious, but delicious eye candy.

The writers are genius and I just hope that they can continue with this high level of hilarity through-out the season.

I can't imagine any woman 30+ who isn't going to identify with Jules & her friends.

If you haven't given it a shot, yet, I hope you make the time to do so.

Definitely worth a watch if you like half hour comedy shows.

Like most new comedies it took me an episode or two to really get into this although I did like it enough from the first episode to watch more. Like most half hour comedies as the characters develop it gets better and better but where so many new comedies seem to fall down this one doesn't. The show doesn't focus too much on character development which allows the jokes to flow freely and fools you in to developing an interest in the characters, like a good comedy should. I probably enjoy it a little more than some might because Anders, that is Ders with a 'Hard-An' reminds me of a friend of mine at work.

The show is pretty fresh and whilst the teens and twenty somethings will probably be the target audience I think older people (probably not those approaching retirement) will still be able to enjoy this show for what it is - a half hour comedy show that keeps you laughing in the genre of a twenty something/stoner comedy.

Retro and FUN!

I've been reading comments about how this show is copying bla, bla, bla. I just want to say that there is so many shows on so many different topics already recorded that its hard to come up with fresh ones. I really like this show it has a really good background story but actors are so much more. They seem to be born for these roles. I mean Mel and Joey are just perfect, plus Ryder and Lennox are such a great success. My point is that if you copy some show and you make it worse that is lame, but if you manage to make it this great that my friends takes some skill and commitment. I have watched all seasons of FRIENDS, Supernatural, Joey(from friends), Seinfeld, The big bang theory and a lot more but i've got to say that this show IS WORTH OF EVERY SECOND of your life. . I just want to thank to actors and writes for doing that great of a job. And i'm hoping for a lot more seasons with Melissa and joey.

Tessa: The New Jesus of Suburbia

This show may not be perfect, but it is funny. Also, it's very relatable, especially to a kid growing up in an obnoxiously fake suburb like the one on the show.

The actors are funny, sweet, quirky, and bring good-natured comedy to the screen. Tessa, Dalia, and Dallas are my favorites on the show. Tessa is witty and clever, a jaded foil to the naive and plastic Dalia and over-the-top yet lovable Dallas.

Also, the script is, for the most part, well written and the situations that Tessa finds herself in are hilarious.

As every sitcom, it's not perfect, and not all the jokes are funny, but for the most part, I am enjoying it and I'm looking forward to next season.

A Brilliant Show That Is Funnier Every Time I See It!

I never meant to watch The IT Crowd, I stumbled upon it by accident when I was at a friends house and I decided to watch it as there was nothing else on and boy was I glad to have watched it! It was so funny, you must admire the emergency services scene! it was a total shame to have only 6 episodes in the 1 series! I hope series 2 comes out soon because this is by far the best series i have ever watched and will be my all-time favourite TV show ever! Moss is a great character and definitely suits the program well as his witty funny lines fits everywhere they are mentioned! "If there were such a thing as a drudgeon, that is what we'd be to them." Class ;) The IT Crowd is A perfect 10/10 a must see.
